This week in our ‘5 questions with…’ series, we put the spotlight on Booker, Business Development Manager.
Q.1 – What excites you most about Gill and your role here?
Gill is a dynamic family business that has grown into a truly international organisation, and that’s something I find really inspiring.
I enjoy working with such a diverse range of people at Gill from Asia to the Americas, all coming together with a shared sense of purpose and one common goal – to improve meteorological and environmental monitoring technologies for our customers.
Q.2 – What interests you most about the industry?
As a Business Development Manager I find it most rewarding building long-lasting relationships with my customers. It is very important to understand their needs so we can deliver exceptional solutions for the diverse range of industries that we support.
Q.3 –How do you see technology impacting your role over the next 5 years?
The use of AI is already transforming how we interpret data on a daily basis, and I believe it will play a major role in our industry over the next five years. Combining Gill sensors with AI could make complex data far more accessible, enabling users to interpret insights easily and make better-informed decisions.
Q.4 -Who has inspired you the most in your career, and what did you learn from them?
Many people throughout my career have inspired me — from leaders who have built their own companies, to those managing day-to-day operations, to colleagues working alongside me in sales. Each person plays a valuable role, and they’ve taught me the importance of teamwork in achieving great things.
Q.5 -Tell us something about yourself that might surprise us.
I have a strong interest in both space and history. Prior to beginning my career, I completed a degree in Classical and Historical Archaeology, with a specialisation in the Roman Empire. In my spare time, I enjoy continuing to expand my knowledge of these subjects and travelling the world. Next travel destinations: Malaga and St Lucia.
