This week in our βπ± π€ππ²πππΆπΌπ»π ππΆππ΅…β series, we put the spotlight Callum Wilcox, Technical Support Engineer.
Discover what Callum has to say about his time working at Gill, who inspired him the most in his career and his love for adventure.
Q.1 – What’s the most useful skill you’ve picked up in your career, and did you expect to need it?
The power of listening. I use it all the time when speaking with end users or our dealers with their feedback/suggestions on improving products or suggesting new ones for the market sector.
Q.2 – How do you see the industry changing in the next five years?
I believe more technology will push to more end user experience such as wireless connectivity. Removing risk and cost to climb a mast when they can connect from the ground to retrieve data or inspect the unit.
Q.3 –Who has inspired you the most in your career, and what did you learn from them?
There has been a few, but Iβve learnt a lot from Andy Smart and is someone I looked up to, when I was a Junior product Manager. This led to my promotion to a fully pledged Product Manager. (One of my career highlights)
Q.4 –What’s something you’re currently learning, inside or outside of work?
Outside of work Iβm learning how to create and edit videos, as well as learning 3D CAD.
Q.5 -Tell us something about yourself that might surprise us.
Iβve circumnavigated around the world on a motorcycle. An amazing experience filled with adventure, beautiful landscapes, and kind people.
