Q.1 – What’s the most useful skill you’ve picked up in your career, and did you expect to need it?
PCB design to meet various compliances, never thought there would be such a widespread use of radios as there is now; Wi-Fi, Bluetooth etc…
Q.2 – What makes Gill a good place to work?
The people, our strong culture of collaboration and getting things done but also, the variety of product, we have provided solutions for a myriad of customers.
Q.3 -Who has inspired you the most in your career, and what did you learn from them?
Richard Feynman, possibly the greatest teacher of all time. His explanations are rooted from an unbelievably deep understanding.
You can’t make something better, and simpler until you understand it.
Q.4 -How do you see the industry change in the next five years?
Everything will be connected to the internet and data will become the commodity. As the internet of things matures, connectivity will stop being a feature and start being a default assumption.
Q.5 -Tell us something about yourself that might surprise us.
Difficult to say, what anyone would find surprising?
Tend to take any hobbies far too seriously, stereotypical engineers’ trait & perhaps not that surprising. Apart from a large & diverse record collection, being an advanced–ARDS qualified racing driver?
